The corridor is a special part of the apartment, which is characterized by very difficult operating conditions. In particular, the corridor is characterized by increased cross-country ability, which is why it is important to select the most durable and wear-resistant floor coverings. Some owners, trying to keep the floors in good condition, opt for ceramic tiles. And really, she can prove herself well. But only on condition that the owner competently handles its styling.

1. How to prepare the floor in the hallway

Despite its particularly high strength, floor tiles should still be laid exclusively on a flat, rough surface. Therefore, the owner needs to remove the old materials, clean the rough base from dirt, and fill it with a screed. The screed must also be primed, otherwise the tiles in the hallway will not be able to gain a foothold. Next, you need to wait for the treated surface to dry.

2. How to lay tiles in the hallway

Most often, this room turns out to be quite narrow, so the tiles have to be cut in large volumes. Therefore, the owner should prepare a tile cutter in advance, if possible, an electric one. To lay tiles, you also need tile adhesive and two spatulas – regular and combed.

The adhesive composition is laid on the floor, passed over it with a combed spatula, after which a tile is applied. During installation, it is necessary to constantly check that the tiles are at the same level. Even the smallest height differences between the elements are unacceptable.

In addition, it is required to maintain the same width of the seams. Plastic dividers are used to maintain the same width. At the same time, the seams in the corridor should be of minimum width, so small-format dividers are used.

3. How to fix the seams in the cladding

In order for the tile to be securely fixed, you most often have to wait at least two days. Only after that, the dividers are disposed of, the seams are cleaned of dirt, if it has accumulated during this time. Next, the gaps are treated with a primer and filled with tile grout. Properly treated seams will be reliably protected from moisture and contamination. It takes at least a day for the grout to dry.

The flooring in the corridor, laid out in this way, will always look great and will be able to protect rough floors from any negative influences. The main thing is that the tiles used correspond to the conditions of this part of the housing. Ambo Market
